Review: Shiro Cosmetics "Death Note Collection"

"I am Justice! I protect the innocent and those who fear evil. Im the one that will become the god of a new world that every one desires!!
Yagami Raito (Death Note)"

That's right, I started off a post with a quote from an anime. That can only mean one thing, and you are right....

Shiro Cosmetics Death Note collection was released on the 16th of October, and I purchased the same day. It arrived today, October 24th and I am extremely excited to share with you.

(Used with Permission for the Owner of Shiro)

Yes, this also confirms that not only am I a makeup geek, and a gamer geek... I am also an anime geek too. Don't hate me cause I am awesome. Lol Anyway, let's get down to business.

Shiro Cosmetics is made for those Geeks out there that want their makeup to match their lifestyle. Their collections include The Death Note Collection, "The Super Effective Collection" based on Pokemon, "The Science Collection" based on Portal, and "The Legends Collection" Based on the Zelda Games. Shiro also offers blushes, lip colors called "intertubes" all named after internet Memes, makeup cases, and jewelry. They have a wide variety of colors, and fair prices in my opinion. You also have 3 options for ordering, samples, mini jars, and fullsize. The collection I ordered I did Mini jars because I have learned a little will go a long way.

Shipping:  This was fantastic. I ordered on Sunday October 24th, and received my new pretties on Monday October 24th. I had heard from some bloggers, and other people that had ordered previously that the turn around time was atrocious, but I say a week is perfect! I everything was packaged very well as too:

The package as I received it

After Cutting it open
I was extremely impressed to see that nothing leaked, spilled, or was even remotely wonky due to shipping. (I have received packages for other companies that they didn't leak, but the lids were slightly askew. )  I would give shipping a 5 out of 5 stars <3

Packaging: Everything is labeled very neatly. There are no labels on the tops of the jars for branding though. I like those because with all the makeup I have, if I am looking for a specific company's color, I look for their logo, or special label on the tops in my train case. Small gripe there, but nothing serious.

All of the jars were packed well, and all had sifter stickers! Sifter stickers are your friends, and if you get cosmetics without them, I will be honest with you, if they are loose shadows or cosmetics, I wouldn't trust it. For this, I would give a 4 out 5 stars (the branding stick does bother me a little, but not too much)

Product: The colors are amazing. Each of them are unique, easily blended, and rich. They do take a little more to get the payoff I want personally, but that is personal preference. I did notice that Detective is labeled as a Duochrome, but I don't see that shift as being as strong as described. it is there, but more of a faint shift in my opinion. On that note though, Detective is my favorite thus far, followed closely by Task Force!

I also love Perfect world. I am not a huge fan of golds, but this one is this beautiful pale gold that is not super strong. I would give these a 4 out of 5 stars.

Overall: 13/15 stars. My experience with Shiro was FANTASTIC! I loved the product, and I loved the fast and efficient shipping. I would highly recommend Shiro to anyone with a passion for makeup, or anyone that wants their makeup to match their lifestyle.

  1. Detective really let me down ... I'm glad I waited to see swatches of it because I really wanted a strong taupe-blue duochrome, not a taupe with blue sheen :/

Oh, did you know you can buy stickers from her for mini (or other) jars? I have, because ... well ... I'm in love with those logos and I always depot the massive samples that come in my Shiro orders :3

  2. Oooh, these look really very nice indeed! I still need to read Death Note. I tried being naughty and reading it online but I can't read comics on the computer, so I'll have to buy it.
