Okay, I know, I'm falling behind on the posting since the start of the year. I'm Sorry!!!
So what has been going on with me is:
1) I moved home with my parents for personal reasons. I love it here, and love that I still have the freedoms of living out side the house since I am renting 2 rooms from them, but still have the comforts of my family and the ability to help them out
2) I have started writing for Gears Community Online Network (GCON) and have Gears of War related posts coming out through them. If you are interested in the series, I really suggest checking them out.
3) I was moved to a different job at work that is better for me and fantastic and I love it.
So, I do intend to resume my "Achieve-Queen" posts that I was doing before. I enjoyed doing those, and once I get my computer set up for it, I may do videos to accompany them. No promises on that happening any time soon though. I have been gaming, but really have not gotten many achievements on the Xbox lately to really justify making a full post. But soon! Very soon! I just got a digital copy of Alan Wake for free from a friend at work and will be playing with that in the next few days.
As for makeup/beauty related posts, I will be resuming those about recommendations and such, but full reviews will be few and far between for a little while. Moving home has made money tight, and I need to get that all sorted first. I will also be writing some more "Opinion" related pieces on tips and tricks I have heard about or tried from others, and I want to hear feed-back from you about the topic in the comments.
That is all for now to be honest. It is late, I am tired, and I have a date with my xbox tomorrow. It feels very unloved since I moved home.

Review: Altered Ego Cosmetics
Tessa Brock recently started up an Etsy Shop a little over a year ago to feature her homemade jewelry. Since then, she has gotten 94 pieces of feedback there, all of which left her with a 100% feedback rating. She was a stellar seller on Etsy, and still is. Now, she has started up her own makeup line: Altered Ego Cosmetics. I had the honor of getting samples of her "Futurama Collection" to try out and review. So here is my 2 cents on Altered Ego!
These are the 7 colors that I received. The colors represent the main characters in the series: The Professor, Bender, Hermes, Zoidberg, Amy, Leela, and Fry. Each Mega Clamshell came with a very good sized sample, which was delivered to my mailbox, neatly packaged and with no spillage! I was excited to see that since clamshells have a habit of not wanting to stay closed, which is at no fault to the business, it's just the packaging that doesn't want to cooperate.
Since they were samples, I did not expect to see a neatly printed ingredient list on a good sized card included. The ingredients are as follows:
Professor: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide
Bender: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide, Mica, Iron Oxide

I use q-tips to apply the colors over a small circle of NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. It did not take much to get this color, and they glitter is subtle to intense. Depending on how much you apply, the more vibrant and the more sparkle you get. I love that with these colors. I can do a soft, gentle look, or an intense, glittery, and eye popping look. Below is a softer look that I did with Fry and Amy.
I kept this on all day, and it didn't wear out, or crease. My eyes looked amazing all day, and lasted until I attacked my face with a makeup remover. Also, I think I am in love with Fry. It's a great peachy-orange, and as you pack on more, the more vibrant it becomes. Love it so much.
So the final verdict: I will buy from Altered Ego in the future, and will add them to my recommendations list for all my readers as well as my friends. To conclude this, listed to what Tessa herself has to say, and below are the links to all shops and pages for her company!

A: Sometimes it is hard for me to refer to or label what I'm doing as a business or company, so I really don't have a specific mission. The reasoning behind that is because that item is a representation of me. When someone receives something that I have personally made then they can be assured that I have put my best effort into it and that I will continue to strive to do that something even better.

A: I would love to combine my jewelry shop and makeup in one. More pointedly, I plan on weeding out most of my colors that contain ingredients like Ferric Ferrocyanide, Chromium and Aluminum. I plan on expanding from just shadows and offering more products, like lipbalms. It is hard for me to want to make things that I'm not really interested in so I haven't really planned out much more than that.
Q: Is there anything that you would like potential or existing customers to know about you or your company?
A: I would love for everyone to know that I don't think of them as dollar signs. Each and every person that has ever or will ever purchase from Altered Ego will always be appreciated and treated the way that everyone deserves to be treated. When someone decides to try my products they are choosing to support a human being not a conglomeration and I will always make it a point to show that appreciation.

Primer, Primer.. Who's got the Primer!?
Why use eye primer? What's the point of adding another step to (for the most part) our already long makeup application project? Lets take a look at 2 options for eye primer!
First off, what is eye primer used for? Well it helps with making your eye shadows/pigments stay on all day, helps prevent creasing, and because more color will adhere to it, helps make a brighter look. There are people that swear by primer, and there are those that don't. The following is all in my own opinion, and this is my first time EVER using primers. Enjoy my fail y'all.

So, a side by side comparison. the SEP just kinda absorbed the NYX pencil into it. The UDPP held only the NYX Pencil like it was glue!
Close up for the SEP eye. You can see where the primer changed colors where the NYX was applied originally.
SEP with Irish springs and Supernova: Irish springs took an orange undertone thanks to the coloration of the SEP primer. Not happy.When you apply a color, you want that specific color, not a variation of it. So, I'd say that SEP would be a better primer for looks with all oranges, or browns. That way, the colors are less affected by the coloration of the primer itself.

The question is, which one works better? Which one holds up to show the true colors of eyeshadows/pigments? That's what I have set out to find out for you guys!
Observation #1: Application
The above picture is my eyes with both primers applied. SEP is on my Left eye, UDPP on the right (Hey look! I figured out how to label my photos without them looking like crap! <3) Both applied well. SEP has a built in brush, and UDPP has a wand. I do have to say I much prefer the wand to the brush because it doesn't clog up like the brush does. SEP dispenses by a twist bottom that pushes product up into the brush, which means that you can have to much, or the brush will cause clogs later on if not sealed properly. They both set themselves and were ready for base in about 1-2 minutes.
Observation #2: Adding a Base
Close up of the UDPP eye. The UDPP held onto the pencil, and allowed me to spread it fairly easily across my eye.
I really did not like the appearance of the SEP. It looked kinda gray-orange on my skin after the base was applied, and it felt strange. It really felt like I had poured straight foundation on my eye lids and just left it there. Not a great feelings. UDPP is nearly invisible, which means that if you don't take your makeup to the base of your brow, it won't show as much as the SEP would. It's also easier to apply a base onto, and it still maintains the bases color. I would be afraid to use colored bases with SEP since it would discolor them.
Observation #3: With Eyeshadow/pigment added on
UDPP with Irish Springs and Supernova: Very true to color. The green popped and remained that way until I took off my makeup this evening. The Orange looked amazing as well, and wasn't made too bright or darkened by the primer. UDPP seems to be the better choice so far because it doesn't add more color to your eye shadow, it just helps it remain in one piece
Also, a short side note: Facebomb Cosmetics is a brand new indie company run by my friend Shayna Toole. Just got my first order from her today, and I love these two colors. Check out her facebook page to see all currently available colors!
The Verdict:
After trying both, and wearing both for a few hours, I have to say that Urban Decay Primer Potion is the clear winner this round! It does it's job, doesn't color the pigments because of the shade of it, and dries slightly faster than Sephoras Eye Primer. I really suggest it, and have to say it is well worth the money you have to pay for it. Wanna try it out? Sephora has their sample size bottle for $9 and they go a LONG way! I highly suggest giving them a try at least once. Urban Decay is my official eye primer of choice for now. Do you ladies have another suggestion? Let me know in the comments below!!

An update finally! (it's a little long)
Alright Ladies, Sorry that I have been gone for a little while now. I've had some issues in my life (some are still going on) and I did not want to pass my case of the sads onto y'all. But, I have considered some things, and will be changing the misson of this blog a bit.
I want to inform the world of my beauty knowledge, inside and outside beauty. I want to inform everyone of the indie companies to love, and the ones to steer away from. I want to share stories of my life with people, cause sometimes, I have some AWESOME ones. I want to have contests, and give out freebies to share cool stuff with you all. Sometimes, I just need to vent, so sometimes, you will see non-makeup related things. We all have stresses, we all have wants and needs and desires. I want to share things with people. I want to make this blog into not only an informative Beauty blog, but make it a little personal as well. I hope you all accept that.
On to the Beauty Portion of the night! Woohoo!
I have fallen in and out of love with A LOT of companies lately. So let me make a list with some reason:
Glittersniffer Cosmetics
I feel betrayed by Glittersniffer because they made PROMISES to their customers, and never delivered. They have HARRASSED and attracted A RADIO STATION to cover the issue at hand. Their products HURT more than one PERSON, but claim none of it is founded. To find out more about the issues with Glittersniffer, see The GS Complaints blog in order to read more about the on going investigation into GS's business practices, the refunds they've promised, and the hope that they will improve.
Madd Style Cosmetics
Madd has not done anything that is too terrible. If you are looking for an all vegan company though, please be careful with Madd. It was discovered that come of their PRODUCTS were listed as vegan even though they contained Carmine.
Orglamix Cosmetics
Orglamix seems to be just slapping stickers on their PRODUCTS and calling them their OWN. There is more information HERE and HERE.
Ruthless Cosmetics
Ruthless is selling non eye safe colors as eye-safe. When this was brought forward originally as a buyer beware, they responded with some not friendly RESPONSES. Then they came back to fight with ANOTHER girl about the original blog that posted the buyer beware. A little unfair I think Considering it was just a warning to be careful where you use the products. Check HERE for further information and reviews.
Now, not all companies are bad. Indie companies are amazing, and I love them with all my heart. There is Virus Insanity Eyeshadows which is amazing with their service, super friendly, and their shadows go on like a dream. There is Candy's Sweet Treats (link on the side bar) which I love, and their names make me giggle. And many, many more. I love those two, have tried them, and highly respect them as companies (reviews coming soon too! I promise!)
Also as a buyer beware- Morgana Cryptoria has recalled some of their lipstick shades due to misinformation from their supplier. Check it out if you own any so you can get an exchange/refund!

EcoTools- A review of something soft, wonderful, and eco-friendly!
So those of you that know me, know that I try to be really eco-friendly. I recycle (even though we DONT have recycling bins) I buy recycled products when I can, I use reusable shopping bags, and I have been known to pick up litter as I walk down the street. Oh, did I mention I don't drive unless I absolutely have to? I live on this planet, and I want it to be a nice place to live for a few more generations at least, so I try to do my part. I also love recycled materials because they tend to be a much softer and lush product from my personal experiences. I've tried brushes from Avon, from bareMinerals, and finally EcoTools. Avon was nice, and they came in swanky colors at one point that as a teen I loved. the bareMinerals brushes were nice to look at, but really rough on my face. My hand slipped with the full coverage brush once and I got a good sharp poke in the eye from a bristle that was extremely painful. Then I found EcoTools. Let me tell you, I have never loved a product this much. I sold my other brushes (still trying to sell the bareMinerals ones... apparently they do have a bad rep) and converted everything to EcoTools. What are they made of?
The handle is made from bamboo, which doesn't take away from the earths resources, and it lasts forever. The metal on the brushes are made from recycled aluminum, and the bristles are Synthetic Taklon, so they are 100% cruelty free. I can tell you those bristles are so soft I can't even think of a way to describe them. They are all consistent as well in quality. The bristles are well held together, and I have yet to have an issue with them applying makeup unevenly. (My bareMinerals kabuki Brush would have issues with picking up more powder on one side because the bristles were slightly uneven.) Anyone who has put on makeup knows what uneven application looks funny, and can be hard to correct with foundation if you have a foundation that matches your skin tone well.
How easy are they to clean?
I have washed all of my brushes with baby shampoo and warm water. It removes the pigment/makeup from them, and leaves them super soft. They are like new even after many uses. Even after being cleaned so much, I have yet to have any bristles fall out. I'm sure you know what I am talking about. You are putting on your makeup, and a bristle falls out, and taking it off your face means restarting all of you makeup. It's frustrating and is a hassle, so the fact I found brushes that work without that issue, I am super happy about that.
Are they cost effective?
The prices range from $3 to $10. They also come in sets, Like one that I got that included 5 brushes and a case for $11. They come in great deals if you get sets, because you usually end up with multiples of eye brushes which are great for applying multiple colors. If you start with a set you also get a few brushes to start your collection with, which you can use and decide if you love them before making any type of a huge investment.
Final Thoughts!
I would recommend these brushes to anyone looking for some cheap, simple, and eco-friendly brushes. They do a great job at what they are supposed to do, and on top of that, they do it well as long as you have the patience to learn how to use each of them correctly, or use them in a way that suits you.

I would recommend these brushes to anyone looking for some cheap, simple, and eco-friendly brushes. They do a great job at what they are supposed to do, and on top of that, they do it well as long as you have the patience to learn how to use each of them correctly, or use them in a way that suits you.

Those are some of my favorites that I have found on her site. She also has advice for things at home, for style, for travelling, and other neat little how-tos. Take a look at her site, look around, maybe post a link below in the comments and share with me and the other readers your favorite how-to or article of hers. I can tell you that personally, the making pore strips at home one is already saving me some big bucks. I used to but Biore pore strips, and it cost $8 plus tax for the little things, and there were only 14 of them. Way too expensive, but I had them pegged as a necessity since I have giant pores and terrible skin. Now, I'm never buying them again. Woohoo!
Another quick question for you guys... I don't have any more tutorials done because I hate all the pictures it take to get the look photoed correctly, and show you how I do everything... so who would be interested in video tuts from me? I am thinking of getting a webcam that can shoot videos fairly well so I can do some, and I want your opinions... Let me know!
