Lack of Posts, and I swear I am back

Life, lots of twists and turns, and stress.

I realized why I am not writing here, even though I love writing. I want to write about life, and everything really. Not just beauty and videogames. I had 3 blogs going, one of my starting a happiness project/life, one for my weight loss, and this. So I am combining them all here and will have posts as much as possible.

An Update! Life and Other things

Hello everyone, Markie here! I apologize for being very absent, and I need to give a huge hug and thank you to Sharon for being epically awesome and doing posts here and there.

As of the last time I posted I have finished moving, gotten rid of some life baggage, and lost a few family members to old age/disease. It's been a rough time, hence my promise of more posts falling through. Sad face.

I will be returning though! I have been having a bit of a rough time managing posts here as I have also began writing for a website called "Gears Community Online Network" or GCON for short. The people

Ladies of Gaming : Princess Peach

Hey there everyone! It's Sharon from Hello There, Blondie! and I'm here bringing you another episode of  the Ladies of Gaming series! She's a fabulous princess with a flair for drama, I bring you Princess Peach!

Princess Peach, aka Princess Toadstool, is easily one of of the most recognizable female video game characters on the planet.  If you know Mario, you know of his princess. And she is -always- in another castle :P

Originally, our Princess Peach had red hair in Donkey Kong. But she soon changed it to blonde, and we all know it's from a bottle ;) Here is my evidence!

"No one will ever know, la la la!"

Except us, Peach. Except us.
Anyways.
Princess Peach appears in many of the Mario spin off games, as well as in her own game on the Nintendo DS, Super Princess Peach,  which I played, and loved it! She is the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. She appeared on Forbes most wealthy list, and is the love interest of Mario. I personally like Luigi better... but I have a thing for tall men. All of her outfits are centered around pink, white, gold and sapphire. There is a ruby on her crown, but just the one. She is perky, sweet, graceful, but in her own game she is just a tad over emotional. I blame Mario. She is one of the most popular to play in the multiplayer games, and I personally love her despite her frequent Damsel in Distressing.

The Look:

Eyeshadows : Brazen's Spectacle , Geek Chic Cosmetics Companion Cute, Geek Chic Cosmetics Brony on top of that with Darling Girl Cosmetics' Princess Peach to blend and highlight. ( a favorite highlight shade of mine )
Eyeliner : Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner in Ultra Black
Waterline: Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Electric with Geek Chic Cosmetics Portal Blue eyeshadow patted on top of it
Lipstick : Quite possibly my favorite lipstick ever, MAC's Pink Popcorn ( reviewed here )

I hope you liked it! I personally love a yellow-pink combo, and the bright blue lasted all day AND night on the waterline! <3

Thanks for reading!
xoxo -Sharon

(*disclaimer - I know that isn't actually Peach in Donkey Kong, but I personally think that Mario is a one woman man. So since she didn't want to be know as the red headed girl, she gave him a fake name, changed her hair color, and came back to woo him again )

Ladies of Gaming: Samus Aran

Hello There! Sharon here from Hello There, Blondie!, and I'm coming at you with another installment in the "Ladies of Gaming" series! This lucky lady is a kickass character that is strong, smart, and still manages to make full body armor look hot :P

The main character of the Metroid series is a very powerful female character named Samus Aran. She is trained to be the perfect warrior, and has an power suit with a cannon on the arm. How cool is that?
The character of Samus is almost always seen in a big bulky armored suit, which is pretty misleading if you never played the games. The suit itself isn't the most flattering or sexy outfit, but that doesn't matter because she's a strong soldier who can handle whatever is thrown at her. I haven't played all of the Metroid games, but the ones I did play I enjoyed!

Samus's armor is mainly compromised of the colors red and orange. But when she isn't in her suit, she wears a skintight blue suit and has her bright blonde hair in a very peppy ponytail. Can't have a girly character running around all frumpy, now can we? I drew inspiration from both of her outfits.

Also, one of my beautiful fur babies is named after her. She's also a gorgeous blonde, who sheds a bit more and drools a lot :P

We're a fan of Samus in this household :)
Sorry this post took a bit to get posted! I was working on another look that I attempted several times and decided to put it on hold and skip ahead to Samus! I hope you don't mind too much :)

Thanks for reading!
xoxo -Sharon

Achieve-Queen: Episode 3

Hello all! Welcome to achieve-queen! Sorry that it has been awhile, but with all of the wonderful joys of moving, I haven't had much time to post. So here I am finally able to do so. So, time to get down to business. Today's Featured games are Gears of War 3 and Dead Island!

Gears of War 3

Award Winning Tactics: You have to earn 1 Onyx Medal in the game. It can be any one. What I did, was while trying to unlock some of the game mods, I maxed out the medal for fortifications in Horde mode.

Come to Poppa!: You have to win a versus multiplayer match as a FULL team of Recruit Clayton Carmines. Easiest way, grab 5 friends, switch to ahve your COG character be Recruit Clayton and play some King of the Hill (KOTH) until you get it. You have to complete an entire match from start to finish it get this achievement.

New Stuff to expect from me

Okay, I know, I'm falling behind on the posting since the start of the year. I'm Sorry!!!

So what has been going on with me is:
1) I moved home with my parents for personal reasons. I love it here, and love that I still have the freedoms of living out side the house since I am renting 2 rooms from them, but still have the comforts of my family and the ability to help them out
2) I have started writing for Gears Community Online Network (GCON) and have Gears of War related posts coming out through them. If you are interested in the series, I really suggest checking them out.
3) I was moved to a different job at work that is better for me and fantastic and I love it.

So, I do intend to resume my "Achieve-Queen" posts that I was doing before. I enjoyed doing those, and once I get my computer set up for it, I may do videos to accompany them. No promises on that happening any time soon though. I have been gaming, but really have not gotten many achievements on the Xbox lately to really justify making a full post. But soon! Very soon! I just got a digital copy of Alan Wake for free from a friend at work  and will be playing with that in the next few days.

As for makeup/beauty related posts, I will be resuming those about recommendations and such, but full reviews will be few and far between for a little while. Moving home has made money tight, and I need to get that all sorted first. I will also be writing some more "Opinion" related pieces on tips and tricks I have heard about or tried from others, and I want to hear feed-back from you about the topic in the comments.

That is all for now to be honest. It is late, I am tired, and I have a date with my xbox tomorrow. It feels very unloved since I moved home.

New Blog Look and a HUGE thanks

I want to give a HUGE shout out to my friend Anna who made me the new banner for the blog <3

It changed a lot over the process of creating it, and went from what I expected, to something completely awesome and different.

I'd told her I wanted it to blend my love of gaming and beauty altogether. When I saw her put me a teal dress, I asked for pink because Sleeping Beauty was my favorite Disney Princess. So she made a shortened version of the dress and made it awesome. Add in some combat boots and a SWEET lancer from Gears of War, and tada!!

Anna has done many photo edits and logos. You can view her fan page all this Here

She's also done an artfire banner for me, which you can view in my shop here: Rustad Creations

I would like to thank Anna publically for this, because it's amazing and wonderful what she has done for me. She put a lot of time and effort into these for me and I love her for it!

Give her page a like <3 I know she'd appreciate it.

Ladies of Gaming : Lara Croft

Hello there everyone! My name is Sharon and I am a friend of Markies! I write in my own blog Hello There, Blondie! and will be writing here as well! I love playing video games, reading books, and I love makeup! I also love robots, superheros, dinosaurs, animals, romantic comedies, and cooking! Here is mah face!
Did I mention I'm a bit of a goofball?
I will be doing a series called "Ladies of Gaming" where I will be featuring a female character from a video game and doing a look inspired by them . And Possibly "Gents of Gaming" if I feel so moved :) I am incredibly honored that Markie asked me to help out here, and I hope you enjoy me being here as well!

This Ladies of Gaming features : Lara Croft

Tomb Raider is a game that I truly love. This is a game series that I started when i was younger in its debut in 1996, and I have continued to be excited for and play the games as they are released. Lara Croft is one of the most recognized video game characters, and possibly -the- most recognized female video game character in existence. She is strong, motivated, sexy, charismatic - plus she is just kick ass. If I were going to be a video game heroine, It wouldn't be so bad to be Lara Croft.

Over time, the graphics have changed, story lines have been rewritten, and her cup size fluctuated up and down, but Lara Croft is still the same thrill seeking archaeologist trying to discover what is next. Or the next big shiny artifact. Whichever comes first. She typically sports a light blue or brown top, brown shorts, hiking boots, and her two pistols with accompanying holsters on her hips. Oh and the backpack, can't forget that! She has long brown hair that for the longest time was in a braid down to her bottom, but in recent games she has a loose ponytail.
Typically, this is what comes to mind when I picture Lara. I like this because unlike the newer games, here she is in her original outfit. She's a little more fleshed out than she used to be, much prettier than sharp angles :P This was Lara in the anniversary game.
Image from Wikipedia
So in my mind, gold artifacts, blue tank tops, dark brown boots and gunmetal would be the colors for Lara Croft.
This is my Lara Croft inspired look.

I had fun with this colorful almost smokey eye, and the liner was really fun! It gave the look an almost Egyptian feel. Appropriate, no?

I used:
a matte khaki, teal and dark brown shadow from my 88 Palette
Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in El Dorado
SugarPill's Chromalust in "Goldilux" on top of the liner
A gunmetal color from a Victoria Secret palette under the eye
Black Gel Liner from Physicians Formula
Tarte's - Light's, Camera, Lashes Mascara
Lipgloss - Simply Sweet Skin Lip Honey in "High Maintenance"

Thanks for reading!
xoxo - Sharon

New things in life, writers, and upcoming

Hey everyone, long time no post.

So I have been moving over the past month and had to put a hold on my posting until now. I had to move back home to help with my own life, and help with my family. Now that I am all settled, expect posts to start appearing in your feeds again.

Speaking of posts, we have 2 new writers that will be posting here from time to time.
There is Sharon and Courtney. Both are fantastic ladies, who love make up, and gaming on the side. I am excited to have them here, and have them as friends. Feel free to say hello in the comments!

Also, I am going to make some use out of my youtube channel, and do some vlogs. I will post them here when I do them. I also hope to do some tutorials as well and put them here.

Lots to do! I have to finish unpacking but expect some posts to start appearing again next week! <3
