Achieve-Queen Episode 2

Long time no see everyone. I've had quite a lot of time to play around with my xbox, and Epic just released RAAMs shadow so I kinda went on a Gears marathon. So, all of these are from Gears of War 3 and gotten in the past 2/3 weeks.

Level 25- Pretty basic and straight forward. You have to play GOW3 enough in campaign or multiplayer to reach Level 25. Depending on your skill level and time able to play, you can get this quickly, or it may take awhile.

An #occupyINDIE Update

Due to recent events, the launch of #occupyINDIE has been postponed.

I am concentrating all my efforts and spare money on getting my mom her vehicle right now, and uptil she has it I am on a no-buy for anything that is not necessary to my daily hygiene, keeping myself clothed, and keeping my job.

I am also in the process of moving back into my parents for various reasons, so posting and responses to comments may be off until that is complete. On the plus side, it shouldn't take long at all, but it will take some time.

Explaining the Vehicle Donation Fiasco

As some/most of you know, I was trying to raise money for my mother to get a handicap accessible vehicle. Upon posting about it, and having my friend Shelby generously offer to do a raffle for a $300 giftcard to help, both of us were sent emails, comments, and messages harrassing us and calling it a scam. I feel the need to make a post clarifying what was going on, the situation and why I was asking for help. (warning, this may be a long one)

Welcome to.... #occupy INDIE

Ladies, Gentlemen, friends, and makeup lovers. Today, I would like to introduce to you a little project I have been working on with a friend.

Some of you have heard of the Indie 4 Ever project started some time ago. Well, due to various reasons it slowly died out and didn't work as planned. So, Shelby ((not) Making it up) who is a dear and close friend of mine, and I spoke, and decided we wanted to re-vamp the idea, give it a new name that we loved, and expressed how we wanted to help small businesses rather than Large corporations. And so, #occupy INDIE was born.

Hello everyone! Today I decided to choose 3 random colors, and use them to make a look. My results were Ruby Doo, My Monster, and Misshapes from Rockeresque Beauty Company.

Simply Sweet Skin Haul

So over the weekend I recieved some delicious goodies from Simply Sweet Skin. I have fallen in love with some of their fall scented goodies, and I am SO glad that she is keeping some of the scents around!

First up:Sea Salt Caramel Soap Bar

 Not only does this smell like a salted caramel, and look fantastic, but it leaves the slightest lingering scent with it as well. The salt is on one side, and then the creamy soap on the other. my first thought upon opening it was this would make a heavenly shaving bar. So I used the salt scrub side to exfoliate my legs, then rinsed and got a lather worked up on my legs to use as a shave cream of sorts. Again, SSS has the best products for shaving with because I got a nice smooth shave, with an older almost dead razor, no cuts, and no razor burn. Highly recommend this one!

Second: Sweet Lips Lip Scrub in Pumpkin Cheesecake

Okay, I will admit it. It smelled SO good, that before I used it for it's intended purpose, I totally taste tested it. It tasted like cheesecake, and sugar. I was happy. So I used it on my lips. It actually helped with my lips not drying out as much through out the next day or two! Fantastic :D I love that it works, and it doesn't taste like soap. Another one I had from another company tasted like soap and it made me sad. So this is my new replacement!

Third: Pumpkin Cheesecake Body Souffle

I got this because the Whipped Body frosting is amazing for my super dry feet because it sucks everything up and makes them soft, but everywhere else, it made my greasy skin greasier. So it goes when you have oily skin. So, I decided to try this since it was boasted as less oily and lighter. And it is everything it is said to be. It absorbs well, smells fantastic, leaves things feeling silky smooth, and oh, did I mention it smells FANTASTIC!

Fourth:Pumpkin Cheesecake Skin Glimmer Lotion

I am sorry for the lack of photo ( i will show this in the video) But this stuff is amazing it is a more traditional lotion that leaves a faint shimmer behind. It smells amazing and it great for date night to add a little "glow" to your appearance!

Achieve-Queen Episode 1

Welcome to our first official Achieve-Queen blog!

For those of you that do not play xbox, achievements are little awards you can get from doing various actions in game. Some are done easily by just progressing in the game, some are done by gaining levels, or doing specific random actions in the game.

My intention with this post is to basically get to brag a little, and explain how each one is gotten in the game. Some may be spoilers, so if you don't like spoilers, don't read this on a regular basis.

First game: Gears of War 3

Lambency is earned by killing either an employee of Epic games, or someone that already has this achievement. I earned this on Team Deathmatch, against a guy that was pretty dang good compared to my current skill level. It was kind of awesome getting it. :3

A look in Rememberance

So, in my last post I explained that I have been under the weather. I have actually been in and out of the hospital, and seen a few doctors now because of some medical issues. These issues are pushing the doctors to believe that I have Crohn's Disease. It is not confirmed yet but it scares me to death.

My Grandmother had Crohn's and died from complication with it almost 4 years ago now. I miss her terribly and she means the world to me.

I decided to do my makeup on a whim tonight, and took the colors for Crohn's and Colitis awareness (which is purple) and use them.

Ello everyone! Long time no talk!

Alright, I am in the process of setting up a regular  posting schedule for the blog. I am sorry I have been irregular with postings for awhile now. I want to change that, but it will have to wait until late next week. (Around Nov 4th/5th)

I have been severely ill. I have been in and out of the hospital, and I am seeing a specialist in the next few days to finally square things away health wise and get back on the right track to getting healthy again. I have wanted to write so many posts, and have started quite a few, but due to pain and exhaustion I just couldn't finish anything because my mind wasn't in it, even if my heart was.

So, next weekend, expect a post with a posting schedule, more info on up and coming posts, and maybe a nice little post for all of you <3 Have a safe Halloween, and eats lots and lots of candy for me!

Review: Simply Sweet Skin-- It smells like fall!

We all have our own memories of childhood. Those can be triggered by a sight, a sound, how something feels, or a scent.

Today, I opened my mailbox and thought "Wow, I really miss Thanksgiving and Christmas at my moms with all the pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, and most of all, her pumpkin cheesecake..." Then I saw my package from Simply Sweet Skin. I could smell it before I had even opened the package. This does not mean that it was leaking, because it was not. Everything is just so fragrant and rich, it's amazing.

Game Review: Gears of War 3

Replica Lancer FTW!

Graphics: The graphics are amazing in my personal opinion. The detail on outfits, faces, and expressions are great. Even though the terrain is very post-apocalyptic, it has a new feel to it, and it is beautiful in it's own way in places. Also, the effects of the water and blood coming on the screen, the fact that items do move when you run into them in places is great too (Like a swing set that I ran into myself)

Today will be my most somber day in NY, no matter what I am doing at Fashion Week right now, I am quietly mourning the loss of 2,996 lives. Yes, it's been 10 years since the September 11th attacks. For me it's hard to believe. That means 10 years ago from today I was starting my first full week of school at Kingston Jr High as a 7th grader. I was innocent and had no clue what was even going on as it was happening. But more of that later.

Fashion Week To Come!

I am excited to announce that as of yesterday I purchased my plane ticket to attend fashion week! I will be in New York September 8th to the 15th attended Fashion week with a friend who is doing makeup for one of the designers. OPI Matte Top coat = My new Favorite Top coat

So my Fabulous friend Shelby spoiled me today with some goodies from Sephora. I will do a bigger post on that later on becuase some of the savings were just too amazing to believe. One of the things she bought me was OPI's Matte top coat. I'd bought this for her previously because she looked like she would die without it, and she loved it, so she bought it for me as well.

The first thing I did was give my nails a coating of OPIs Chip Skip, followed by 2 layers of OPI's Glee Collection color-- "Who let the dorks out?"

So I was watching a documentary on a game called Super Columbine Massacre RPG! which recreates the events of the Columbine High School shooting. This games creator was a 10th grade student in Colorado at the time of the shootings and felt that this shooting changed his life because he was a bullied kid, that was a "loner" like the shooters. It hit close to home, and he felt that after finding the RPGMaker2000 he decided to make this game to try to shed light on the situation, not to encourage more shooting. On his website with the game are forums to discuss shootings, and reactions to the game. It was a way to open a discussion about things that most people were afraid to discuss.

This is a VERY long overdue post. I have found, and fallen in love with an amazing brand of Skin care products, as well as shampoos/conditioners and body stuff. They try to use as many natural ingredients as possible, smell fantastic, and can be found at Target, Walmart, and various other stores. So here is my little blurb about their line of products, what I have used, and what I think!

The Yes To brand was founded in 2006. "Yes To combines high-quality organic fruits and vegetables with a special mineral elixir derived from the Dead Sea to nourish and hydrate naturally." (quote taken from their site) They try to find things and make them as a way to make you feel happier and healthier.

Beating Portal 2: WARNING SPOILER ALERT

First off, if you are reading this, haven't beaten the game and intend to... STOP!! I will be talking about the ending because I found it highly amusing, and I do not want to ruin it for you <3 If you have finished it, or spoilers do not matter to you, read on friends!

So first off, the game itself was AMAZING! I loved it. I liked how it was run, as though you'd been locked away for who knows how long, and you are trying to break out with a little robotic companion, Wheatley. His a friendly robot, with a funny British accent,and is generally helpful. Well, until he has you plug him into an electrical mainframe and you accidentally wake-up GlaDos again. Yeah... No Bueno.

Buyer Beware: Neon Eyeshadows/Pigments

Since I love all you wonderful ladies, and your beautiful eyes, I wanted to give some advice.

If someone claims to have "eye safe" neons, UV colors, glow in the dark colors, or fluorescent colors, turn around, and spend your money elsewhere. As of today, there is no such thing as a safe version of these according to FDA standards. Most people selling something like this are using harmful soap dyes that are not safe for your eyes. They can cause irritation, and can lead to blindness.

For example, the whole Glittersniffer fiasco started because her pinks and neons contained soap dyes. She admitted this herself. People were injured due to that makeup. Not just irritation but serious

A new project...

Sorry I have been MIA recently ladies. I have been reading a book and doing some things that sent me on an emotional rollar coaster ride. So let me telll y'all what I have been up to:

1) Reading the most inspirational book I have ever seen
I have been reading "The Happiness Project" By Gretchen Rubin. She spends an entire year working on making herself happier. Just the way she does things and shares her story is so inspiring. So I have resolved to start my own. I will be blogging about it and talking about a lot of things that are personal, so to save y'all, I will be now blogging about it here, I will make a new blog for it so I don't bore those of you that are all makeup/game oriented to death. I will post a link to that blog on the sidebar once I start it though <3

2) Working.... a lot
I work from home, and I can't seem to leave work once it's quitting time. I keep volunteering for things and helping friends out. It's probably going to kill me but the overtime is oh so sweet and delicious. I am a work-a-holic, I need to improve on that

3) Gaming
I have been gaming a lot, and have been meaning to do some halarious adventure posts of my characters in games and the crud I do, but just haven't had the time to do it. I will have a post soon though! I promise! I just need to make some time to sit down and do it.

That's about it. Interspersed with sleeping and facebook, that's about all I have done. Hopefully more posts are to come, I am sorry that I have been absent. This is just a quick post for  now. I will be posting a huge EOTD post tomorrow with tons of looks I have done ^-^

Teeth Whitening and Minecraft Fun

I adventured into the world of teeth whitening today since my toothpaste came with a sample of a bottom and top whitening strips. So I put them on while doing chat support for my job and can I just say DO NOT DO THESE AT WORK!

All of the commercials show women using them at work, and in the car. It's LIES. I was foaming at the mouth like I had rabies, I couldn't drink anything to make it better, and just had to grab paper towels and cover my mouth as everyone laughed at me while I foamed away. I work from home, but was on a conference call for those of us doing chat support, and they were all laughing their butts off at my little ordeal. Well, after 30 minutes, I excused myself, ripped them off, washed out my mouth, and smiled. My teeth, were defiantly whiter,

I'm just full of reviews lately arn't I!? Well, that may or may not be because I am TONS of new makeup to share with you! So, I am trying to play catch up with my makeup reviews because some were promised and not delivered thanks to my horrible immune systems kicking me in the butt. Xbox Forums- A place that holds my guilty pleasure....

Most people that know me have described me as "awesometastic", "awesome", "lovely", "caring", "dynamic", and "Fandabbydozey"
(Note: these words were taken from actual posts on facebook when I asked my friends to describe me in one word. I had to giggle at some of the response)

Little did they know my guilty pleasure is none of those things! -dramatic music plays- A little background first though.

I have been a member of the Xbox Live community for almost 3 years. Since I first got into gaming I have loved the Xbox Live community and service as a whole. I got to play games with people from around the world, make new friends, and found a community that I felt a part of without having to change who I was. Awesome right? Except one tiny, itsy bitsy thing...

HACKERS/CHEATERS

Hate them. Hate them all so much. I can not stand going into a matchmaking game on Halo:Reach and find out that players are using an aim bot, or using a lag switch to gain an advantage. Sure, it helps THEM play, but it ruins it for everyone else. This is also against the Terms of Use and Code of Conduct for the Xbox Live Gold service that you have to agree to in order to even use the service. So what happens? They get found out, either by the Xbox Live Enforcement Team or by being reported, then they get hit with the ban hammer. Some offenses only get you banned temporarily, some force you into a corner, and give you a perma-ban.

So what is my guilty pleasure? Why... It is reading the Xbox Forums section for "Account Suspensions and Bans" and laughing as people try to make excuses for why they had cheated, or trying to lie to the very people that monitored them and witnessed them cheating! Yeah that's right... I'm sorry to all my dear friends that I have lied to and put up the facade of being amazing and caring. I secretly have this little tiny black hole in my heart for people like this:

Review: Altered Ego Cosmetics

Tessa Brock recently started up an Etsy Shop a little over a year ago to feature her homemade jewelry. Since then, she has gotten 94 pieces of feedback there, all of which left her with a 100% feedback rating. She was a stellar seller on Etsy, and still is. Now, she has started up her own makeup line: Altered Ego Cosmetics. I had the honor of getting samples of her "Futurama Collection" to try out and review. So here is my 2 cents on Altered Ego!

These are the 7 colors that I received. The colors represent the main characters in the series: The Professor, Bender, Hermes, Zoidberg, Amy, Leela, and Fry. Each Mega Clamshell came with a very good sized sample, which was delivered to my mailbox, neatly packaged and with no spillage! I was excited to see that since clamshells have a habit of not wanting to stay closed, which is at no fault to the business, it's just the packaging that doesn't want to cooperate.

Since they were samples, I did not expect to see a neatly printed ingredient list on a good sized card included. The ingredients are as follows:

Professor: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide
Bender: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide, Mica, Iron Oxide
Hermes: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide, Mica, Iron Oxide, Carmine
Leela: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide, Polyethylene Terephthalate
Fry: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide
Amy: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide
Zoidberg: Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide

The only Non-Vegan one is Hermes, and it is labeled as such on the ingredients list. The fact that she went the extra step to throw in a print out, and mark on said list what was non-vegan made me very happy. It is hard to find service like that.

I use q-tips to apply the colors over a small circle of NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. It did not take much  to get this color, and they glitter is subtle to intense. Depending on how much you apply, the more vibrant and the more sparkle you get. I love that with these colors. I can do a soft, gentle look, or an intense, glittery, and eye popping look. Below is a softer look that I did with Fry and Amy.

I kept this on all day, and it didn't wear out, or crease. My eyes looked amazing all day, and lasted until I attacked my face with a makeup remover. Also, I think I am in love with Fry. It's a great peachy-orange, and as you pack on more, the more vibrant it becomes. Love it so much.

So the final verdict: I will buy from Altered Ego in the future, and will add them to my recommendations  list for all my readers as well as my friends. To conclude this, listed to what Tessa herself has to say, and below are the links to all shops and pages for her company!

Q: What made you decide to make your own makeup?
A: I have always been fascinated with the idea of making things for myself so when I discovered that I could get my hands on materials to make my own makeup, I knew it was the beginning of something awesome! Also, being a person with a very modest income, if I can find a way to do something myself then I will.

Q: As a company, do you have a specific mission or service standard that you expect to reach or provide?
A: Sometimes it is hard for me to refer to or label what I'm doing as a business or company, so I really don't have a specific mission. It's more like this: I make things for myself and if I decide that I want to offer the item that I made to other people then I have to make that item as awesome as possible. The reasoning behind that is because that item is a representation of me. When someone receives something that I have personally made then they can be assured that I have put my best effort into it and that I will continue to strive to do that something even better.

Q: What are your future plans for your company?
A: I would love to combine my jewelry shop and makeup in one. More pointedly, I plan on weeding out most of my colors that contain ingredients like Ferric Ferrocyanide, Chromium and Aluminum. I plan on expanding from just shadows and offering more products, like lipbalms. It is hard for me to want to make things that I'm not really interested in so I haven't really planned out much more than that.

Q: Is there anything that you would like potential or existing customers to know about you or your company?
A: I would love for everyone to know that I don't think of them as dollar signs. Each and every person that has ever or will ever purchase from Altered Ego will always be appreciated and treated the way that everyone deserves to be treated. When someone decides to try my products they are choosing to support a human being not a conglomeration and I will always make it a point to show that appreciation.

Final Thoughts: Glittersniffer Cosmetics

I recently announced I would no longer support, endorse, or use Glittersniffer Cosmetics. Now that I have had enough time to let emotions die down, I feel that I can talk about it here with a fresh and and unclouded perspective. I wanted to be truthful about my reasons for leaving, as well as provide information This might be long, so please bear with me

When I became an admin on the Glittersniffer Private group page on Facebook, I felt awesome. For the first time, I was a part of something. I have had issues fitting in since I was little, so this was a new experience to me. I followed orders, from Lela, about deleting and blocking users who were on the Glittersniffer Complaints page. I also removed any and all negative posts on the private page as well, and monitoring the main fan page for negativity to tell Lela about so it could be removed. It felt wrong, but my mind, I saw it as the role I was to play in order to stay apart of this group.

Not too long into my admin duties did I start to hear the rumors, from the other admins. They spoke of her lack of proper work sanitation procedures, such as, not washing her hands after smoking or eating. Another matter brought into question was her working environment. For example, her cat being aloud to walk in and out of her work area. I am deathly allergic to cats so the idea of fur in my cosmetics is not a settling thought.

An accusation was also made that Lela has an addiction to a substance called Kratom. Though it is legal in small doses, Lela made references to using it multiple times a day, in high doses. This was also witnessed by another admin that had gone to stay with her for roughly a week back in February. Though this is a more personal aspect of her and not the company, it made me stop to think what it was I was trying to be a part of? Was this type of person, someone I should be so worried of getting approval from. I was wanted to be a part of something, but not something like this.

These rumors have proved true with photos, eye witnesses, and even from Lela herself. I find myself now concerned for Lela Warren. She is only human, and I do not wish to harm her. I can only hope she will seek the help she needs to become a better business owner, but also a better person.

Now, before I left GS, I helped Lela create the Video game collection. After waiting  a month for my package, since I was promised a full collection because it was my idea originally, I contacted Lela and she was happy to send me one. I would like to share with you what I had received.

How it was packaged inside a regular manila envelope.

Inside the bag

The package pulled out of the pac-man bag. I already knew I was up for disappointment when I saw the broken soap.

The other side. The "Yoshi" green pigment was spilled everywhere.

The set of pigments as I received them. This is unaltered. I pulled this for the bag as is.

The perfume. The listing stated it was in a twist up tube, but was actually sent to me in a 5g Pot. Still cute though

It looks as though it was in a tube at one point, and just plopped into the pot.

The Mountain Dew Soap. Broken in 4 pieces, and was not wrapped. Everything was covered in a soap residue because of it not being wrapped.

The "full" vials of cosmetic glitter. In different vials, and barely full.

The Bath bomb. There was red glitter, and rock salt on the top. Some of which was scraped off as I pulled it from the package.

This is all I received. I was very disappointed. The soap was very thin, so it broke in transit. If it had been packaged and wrapped as most companies do with their soap I believe that it would have arrived in one piece. The pigments were everywhere. Most of the green was dumped out because there was no sifter stickers on any sifters, and the stacker wasn't sealed in anyway. Scotch tape would have been enough in my mind to prevent this. The perfume not being in the twist up tube doesn't bug me as much as you can tell it was at some point.  The glitter vials were no where near full, not even half full. 

I really do hope that maybe this was just my package, not everyone's. It is also my hope that Glittersniffer does turn over a new leaf and corrects its mistakes of the past as they promised. Sadly though, as you can see above, it doesn't appear that it has happened yet. Personally, I will not purchase for GS ever again. After was I saw with the Video Game collection, my heart broke because that was something I helped create, and it was no where near what it could have been.

I hope this has been informative to whoever reads this. I sincerely hope that possibly, Lela Warren will read this and see what has happened and know that I wish her the best. I used to be devoted to GS, I used to be an admin, and I loved it. Then it went south, I left, but I still feel like things can improve. For her current customers, I hope things improve and you enjoy what you get from GS.
